Is My Startup Eligible for the Startup SG Equity Programme?
Your startup is eligible if it:
Is a Singapore-based company with core operations in Singapore
Is incorporated as a private limited company for less than 10 years
Has a paid-up capital of at least SGD 50,000
Is in a deep-tech or general-tech growth sector
Has secured investment from a qualified third-party investor who is willing to co-invest with the government
How Does the Co-Investment Process Work?
1. Secure a Lead Investor
First, your startup must secure investment from one or more third-party investors.
2. Investor Submits Application
The interested third-party investor(s) will then apply for co-investment to Startup SG.
3. Due Diligence
Startup SG will conduct due diligence on both the startup and the investors.
4. Investment
If approved, the government will co-invest on the same terms as the third-party investors.
What is the Funding Support?
The government typically invests in the following structures:
7:3 basis for the first SGD 250,000 raised
1:1 basis thereafter, up to a maximum of SGD 2 million per startup
For deep-tech startups, the government may invest up to SGD 8 million.
What Do Co-Investors Look For in a Startup SG Equity Deal?
Strong Market Traction
Demonstrate early but clear evidence of product-market fit, such as user growth, pilot customers, or initial revenue.
A Scalable Business Model
Investors need to see a clear path to significant growth and a large addressable market.
A Capable Management Team
The strength, experience, and commitment of the founding team are often the most critical factors in an investment decision.
