Is My Company a Good Fit for EDB incentives?

The EDB incentives are typically for companies that:

  • Conduct substantial R&D, innovation, or capability development activities in Singapore

  • Contribute significantly to the Singapore economy and create high-value jobs

  • Anchor strategic functions or headquarters in Singapore

In general, EDB supports both local and foreign companies, often focusing on large enterprises or high-potential scale-ups in strategic sectors.

How Do I Engage with EDB?

Unlike typical grant portals, engaging with EDB is a consultative process:

1. Make Contact with EDB

Reach out to the relevant EDB industry division to discuss your business and project plans.

2. Consultative Discussion

EDB officers will work with you to understand your strategic goals and explore how your project aligns with Singapore's economic priorities.

3. Customised Support

If there is a good fit, EDB will work with you to structure a package of customised incentives.

What Incentives are Available Under Innovation, R&D, and Capability Development?

Under Innovation, R&D, and Capability Development, there are six key incentives. They are as follows:

Intellectual Property (IP) Development Incentive (IDI)

The IP Development Incentive (IDI) incentivises companies to use and commercialise intellectual property rights derived from research and development (R&D) activities.

Partnerships for Capability Transformation (PACT) Scheme

This Partnerships for Capability Transformation (PACT) scheme empowers original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their suppliers by covering a portion of costs incurred from purchasing equipment, materials, testing, and professional services.

Research and Innovation Scheme for Companies (RIS(C))

The Research and Innovation Scheme for Companies (RIS(C)) supports technology development and innovation activities, supporting the development of products and processes from Singapore.

Tech@SG Programme

The Tech@SG Programme supports fast-growing companies in establishing their core teams in Singapore and capturing business opportunities in Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia.

Jointly administered by EDB and Enterprise Singapore, Tech@SG opens doors for global technology talent to find employment in eligible companies.

Tech.Pass

Tech.Pass is a visa that allows established tech entrepreneurs, leaders or technical experts to enter Singapore and perform frontier and disruptive innovations.

What is the Funding Support?

Support is customised and can include grants that co-fund a percentage of qualifying project costs, such as manpower, training, equipment, and intellectual property. The level of support depends on the project's strategic value and the company's commitment to Singapore.
