Finance Senior Executive

We are looking for a Finance Senior Executive to join our growing team. This is a new role as the business has scaled since inception.

This is a role for someone who enjoys going beyond transactional accounting - turning financial information into useful, timely reporting that helps management and clients understand their businesses better.

What you’ll be doing

You will support both our internal finance function and external client finance reporting, including:


  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and semi-annual cash flow and financial reports;

  • Preparing and reviewing management accounts and financial information across multiple entities;

  • Reviewing client accounts and identifying anomalies, trends and areas requiring further attention;

  • Supporting month-end and periodic financial closing and reporting;

  • Preparing cash flow forecasts, variance analyses and other management reporting;

  • Reviewing financial information prepared by the client accounting team;

  • Supporting internal budgeting, financial analysis and business performance reporting;

  • Working with management and internal stakeholders to improve the quality and usefulness of financial information;

  • Supporting finance-related projects, process improvements and ad hoc assignments; and

  • Using AI and other digital tools to assist with analysis, reporting, review and preparation of financial information.


Who we’re looking for

You should ideally have:

  • 1–3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience;

  • A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline;

  • Good grounding in financial accounting and the preparation of management accounts;

  • Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills;

  • An analytical mindset and an ability to identify issues rather than simply process information;

  • Good written and verbal communication skills;

  • Attention to detail, coupled with an appreciation of commercial context; and

  • An interest in using technology to improve traditional accounting and finance workflows.

  • Experience with accounting platforms such as Xero or similar systems would be advantageous.

We do not see AI as a substitute for accounting knowledge or professional judgement. Instead, we want our finance team to learn how to use AI effectively for activities such as financial analysis, report preparation, variance identification, data review and workflow automation - reducing repetitive work and allowing more time for higher-value analysis.


Employment arrangement

This is a one-year renewable contract position, with the opportunity to be considered for conversion to a permanent position after 12 months, subject to performance, organisational requirements and mutual agreement.
